FENELLA GRIGSBY

Life always had something to do with horses and animals. Since moving to NZ in 2003, Fenella has bred several Hanoverian horses and English pointers whom she competes in NZ. Living in the central north island town of Taihape provides a central base to enable easy travel for regular clinics to the Manawatu, Horowhenua, Wellington, Wanganui, Taranaki & Hawkes Bay. |

Qualifications & Experience
- Chiropractic training at University of Wales through McTimoney College of Chiropractic (5 year undergraduate program)
- Animal Chiropractic at RMIT University Melbourne (2 year post graduate diploma)
- Vet Nursing at TOCES, UK (1 year certificate)
- Sports Therapy at University of Gloucestershire, UK (1 year certificate)
- Musculoskeletal Management (Humans) at Otago University (CHCH med school), NZ (2 year post graduate diploma)
- Registration with the GCC(UK) since 2002 - retention on the register requires 30hours of continuing professional development per annum
- Over 15 years treating humans using sports therapy & chiropractic techniques at a number of different practices in the UK. Fenella gained a wealth of experience whilst working from two McTimoney Chiropractic practices in the Cotswolds, UK. Her husbands work commitments involved a move to Wellington, NZ. Here she worked at the Kilbirnie Aquatic Centre and the Club Physical Gym adding to knowledge in treating sports injuries, general health, headaches, migraines and spinal pain. A move to Wanganui meant her dream practice caring for animals and humans alike was possible. A further move to Taihape has enabled good road access to most lower north island locations
- Over 15 years experience in New Zealand treating horses in stables of experienced trainers & riders of performance & sport horses, successful thoroughbred racing trainers, as well as a diverse range of other equestrian disciplines like Polo, endurance and harness horses
- Over 35 years experience with horses, including 2 years riding trackwork in the Cotswolds, UK and many years show jumping, hunting, dressage and eventing in the UK & New Zealand, and hunting in Australia
- 2 years spent with Sarah Stafford, ACPAT(UK) registered Animal Physiotherapist increased understanding additional treatment modalities for muscle/skeletal problems in dogs and horses, & work at the leading Equine Hydrotherapy Spa Centre in the UK provided an insight to the management of lower limb rehab programs in horses
- Experience in treating agility dogs due to the lively Wanganui Dog Obedience and Agility Club. Also racing greyhounds through the Greyhound track in located Wanganui
- Attendance at Advanced Equine Biomechanics seminars presented by Sharon-May Davis. Also a 3 day dissection which was incredible
- Certification as a WOW Saddle Fitter and many years helping clients with their saddle fitting issues, different models and makes
- Regular catch ups with colleagues for CPD purposes
- Pratitioner level training for Kinesio-taping from Dr Raquel Butler, the Vetkin Tape instructor in Australia.
